I am a life-long piano player and have been teaching piano privately since my sophomore year of college.
I received my Bachelor's degree in music at Texas Woman's University then went on to graduate school at Southern Methodist University.
Shortly thereafter, I began working in Weatherford, Oklahoma, as a music therapist, a job for which a Master's degree in special education was a requirement.
After finally finishing college, I became a school teacher and have been with the Amarillo Independent School District for 25 years. I've taught special education, deaf education and elementary music. On the side, for most of those 25 years, I've given private piano lessons in Amarillo to students of all ages in my home.
